ID@Xbox April Showcase: Speedrunners 2, Vampire Crawlers, and More
Microsoft and IGN's April indie showcase revealed a bunch of fun-looking games — here is everything announced and what actually looks worth your time.

Microsoft and IGN co-hosted the ID@Xbox April 2026 Showcase this week, and it was a solid hour of indie game announcements ranging from genuinely exciting to pleasantly weird. If you missed it, here is the rundown of everything revealed and which ones actually deserve a spot on your wishlist.
Speedrunners 2: King of Speed
The original SpeedRunners was a surprise hit — a chaotic multiplayer platformer where outrunning your friends was both the objective and the comedy. Speedrunners 2: King of Speed cranks it up to eight players and is targeting a July 2026 release on Xbox and PC.
If you played the original with friends, this is an easy wishlist add. If you never did, think of it as Mario Kart meets a side-scrolling sprint — and yes, it is exactly as ridiculous as that sounds.
Vampire Crawlers
The Vampire Survivors formula has spawned plenty of spin-offs, but Vampire Crawlers is one of the more interesting takes. It layers a deckbuilding system on top of the auto-battler loop, so instead of just picking up power-ups, you are drafting cards between waves to shape your build.
It is positioned as a spin-off rather than a sequel, but for fans of both genres it looks like exactly the kind of mashup that could eat a whole weekend. No release date yet, but it is confirmed for Xbox and PC.
Lofsong
The wildcard of the showcase. Lofsong is described as an audio-driven adventure game — the environment responds to music in ways that go beyond visual flair and actually affect gameplay. The trailer was short on details but long on atmosphere, and it immediately looked distinct from everything else on the slate.
Worth keeping an eye on as more details emerge closer to release.
Albion Online Comes to Xbox
Outside the trailer reel, Albion Online — the free-to-play sandbox MMO known for full-loot PvP — launched on Xbox consoles during showcase week. It has been on PC for years and has a dedicated playerbase, so if you have wanted to jump in but prefer a controller, now you can.
Fair warning: Albion Online has a real learning curve and a ruthless economy. It is not a casual MMO, but if deep PvP and player-driven markets sound appealing, it is completely free to try.
The Bigger Picture
ID@Xbox showcases do not always steal headlines, but they consistently surface games that end up being cult hits. Speedrunners 2 is the safest bet here for immediate fun, while Vampire Crawlers and Lofsong are the ones to watch as release dates solidify.
Microsoft's push to make Xbox a strong home for indie games continues to pay off. Between Game Pass and the ID@Xbox program, the platform has become one of the better places to stumble onto your next favorite game you had never heard of before.
