Evo Japan 2026: Every Champion Crowned This Weekend
Evo Japan 2026 just wrapped up with historic results across Guilty Gear, Fatal Fury, 2XKO, and more. Here are all the champions from this weekend.

Evo Japan 2026 just wrapped up, and if you missed it — wow, you missed a lot. The event ran from May 1–3 and brought together thousands of fighting game fans for one of the biggest celebrations of the genre in recent memory. By the end of Sunday, we had brand new champions across six different titles, and a few moments that the FGC will be talking about for a while.
Total attendance hit 10,231, with Street Fighter 6 alone pulling in 7,684 entrants — a record-breaking number that says a lot about how healthy the FGC is right now. Heres a full breakdown of every winner.
2XKO: Hikari Takes the Crown
Riot Games League of Legends-inspired fighter 2XKO had one of the most exciting brackets of the weekend. In the end, it was Hikari who came out on top, claiming the championship with Supernoon finishing in second and Wawa rounding out the top three.
2XKO is still relatively new to the competitive scene, so seeing it featured at Evo Japan with a strong turnout is a great sign for the games future in esports.
Guilty Gear Strive: Five Years in the Making for Tyurara
This was the feel-good moment of the entire event. Tyurara — a competitor who has been grinding the Evo circuit for five years — finally won it all in Guilty Gear Strive. Five years of near-misses, bracket runs, and heartbreaks, all capped off with a championship at Evo Japan 2026.
If that story doesnt hit you right in the FGC soul, nothing will. Congrats to Tyurara — that win was earned.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves — Xiaohai Beats Laggia in a Classic Showdown
The newly released Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves had one of the most anticipated finals of the weekend. In the end, it came down to Xiaohai versus Laggia — two of the most recognized names in the FGC — with Xiaohai taking the win in a match that had the crowd going wild.
Fatal Furys return to competitive play has been massive, and a final like this only adds to the games growing legacy on the tournament circuit.
The King of Fighters XV: M Claims Championship
M won The King of Fighters XV bracket, claiming the championship in what has been a consistently competitive scene for KOF. SNKs flagship title always draws serious players at Japanese tournaments, and this year was no exception.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina — Yutta Wins
Melty Blood: Type Lumina has one of the most dedicated communities in the FGC, and Yutta represented that community perfectly, taking home the championship. Melty Blood tournaments are always incredibly technical, and the level of play this weekend was top-tier.
What This Weekend Means for the FGC
Evo Japan 2026 was another reminder of just how global and passionate the fighting game community is. Record Street Fighter 6 numbers, a multi-title lineup, and story moments like Tyuraras long-awaited win — this is exactly what makes the FGC special.
The next big question is how the momentum carries into Evo 2026 in Las Vegas later this year. With results like these, the hype is already through the roof.
Whether youre a die-hard FGC veteran or someone who just dabbles in fighters, this was a weekend worth paying attention to. The fighting game scene is very much alive and absolutely thriving.
