EA Sports UFC 6 Is Official — June 19 With Pereira and Holloway
EA Sports officially revealed UFC 6 with a June 19 release date, Alex Pereira and Max Holloway as cover athletes, and a new game mode coming this winter.

EA Sports made it official on April 27: UFC 6 is coming June 19, 2026, and it is bringing two of the sports biggest names along for the ride. Alex Pereira covers the Standard Edition; Max Holloway graces the Ultimate Edition. If you need early access, the Ultimate Edition gets you in on June 12 — a week ahead of everyone else.
This is the news the MMA and sports gaming community has been waiting on. After months of speculation and leaks, we finally have a concrete date, confirmed cover athletes, and the first hints at what makes this entry different from its predecessor.
The Cover Athletes
Alex Pereira needs no introduction. "Poatan" is one of the most feared fighters on the planet right now — a knockout artist with highlight-reel power and a list of championship wins that keeps growing. Having him front and center on the standard edition makes perfect sense; he is the face of the sport in 2026.
Max Holloway on the Ultimate Edition is an equally strong pick. The "Blessed" era at featherweight, the BMF title run, the wars against Dustin Poirier — Holloway is a living legend with one of the most dedicated fanbases in MMA. Pairing these two covers gives UFC 6 broad appeal across weight classes and fighting styles.
Pricing and Editions
- Standard Edition: 9.99 — releases June 19, 2026
- Ultimate Edition: 9.99 — early access June 12, 2026
Pre-ordering either edition unlocks access to a new game mode launching Winter 2026, with additional expansion content planned for Summer 2027. EA has not detailed what this mode is yet, but the framing suggests something more substantial than a roster update — potentially a new career mode structure, a returning fan-favorite mode, or something entirely fresh.
Next-Gen Only
UFC 6 is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive. No last-gen support, which tells you EA is building this one specifically around current hardware capabilities. Expect faster load times, improved fighter models, more detailed crowd and arena environments, and potentially more sophisticated physics for clinch work and ground game — areas where older hardware always held the series back.
What to Expect from the Gameplay
EA has not dropped gameplay footage yet, but based on the next-gen-only stance and the teased new mode, a few things seem likely:
- Overhauled submission system — it has been one of the more criticized elements in recent entries
- Expanded career mode with deeper progression and more realistic training camp simulation
- Improved online infrastructure — ranked play and matchmaking have been sore spots for the community
- Updated roster reflecting the current UFC landscape, including recent champions and emerging contenders
Full gameplay reveal is almost certainly coming in May, likely tied to a UFC event for maximum exposure.
Should You Pre-Order?
The new Winter 2026 mode as a pre-order bonus is interesting, but the specifics matter a lot here. If it is a meaningful mode — not just cosmetic content — that shifts the value equation significantly. Hold off on the Ultimate Edition premium unless you absolutely need that week of early access. The Standard Edition at 9.99 is the safer bet until EA shows more of what the Winter mode actually is.
Either way, June 19 cannot come soon enough for fight fans who have been patiently waiting. UFC 6 looks like it has the right athletes, the right hardware ambition, and enough mystery around new content to keep things interesting leading into launch.
